The banner isn’t showing on my site
Possible cause 1: The script isn’t actually on the page.
Solution: 1. Open your live site in a browser. 2. Right-click and choose View page source. 3. Press Ctrl+F (or Cmd+F on Mac) and search for consentbit. 4. If you don’t see the script, the install didn’t save. Re-do your platform’s install steps. 5. If you do see it, move on to the next cause.
Possible cause 2: Your browser already has a stored consent.
Solution: 1. Open the site in an incognito / private window. 2. The banner should appear there. 3. If yes , your previous browser just remembered your earlier choice. Working as expected.
Possible cause 3: The site domain in ConsentBit doesn’t match your real domain.
Solution: 1. In ConsentBit, go to your site’s settings. 2. Confirm the domain matches exactly (no www. mismatch, correct TLD). 3. If you serve your site at both example.com and www.example.com, add both as approved domains under Settings → Domains.
Possible cause 4: A content-security policy (CSP) is blocking the script.
Solution: 1. Open the browser’s developer console (F12 or right-click → Inspect). 2. Look for errors like “Refused to load the script … violates Content Security Policy.” 3. Add https://cdn.consentbit.com to your CSP script-src directive.
