- Does ConsentBit itself set tracking cookies?
ConsentBit sets one functional cookie (named consentbit_consent or similar) that stores the visitor’s choice. This is essential for the tool to function , without it, the banner would show on every page. This cookie is exempt from consent requirements under GDPR (it’s a “strictly necessary” cookie under ePrivacy). - What data does ConsentBit collect about my visitors?
Per consent record: a unique consent ID, anonymized IP (last octet removed), user agent, language, country (from IP), and the consent decisions themselves. No personal information beyond that. - Where is data stored?
Default region is configurable. Most accounts default to EU (Frankfurt) for GDPR-friendliness, with US and APAC regions available. -
