We’ve officially upgraded ConsentBit with enhanced support for the latest IAB Transparency & Consent Framework (TCF) standards

Running your first cookie scan

May 18, 2026

A cookie scan tells ConsentBit what tracking is currently on your site, so it knows what to block.

  1. On your site row, click Scan site.
  2. ConsentBit will crawl your public pages (it does not need login access).
  3. After 30–90 seconds (longer for larger sites), you’ll see a results list.
  4. Each cookie or script is automatically tagged with:
    • Provider: who sets it (Google, Meta, your domain, etc.)
    • Purpose: what it does (analytics, advertising, etc.)
    • Category: Necessary, Preferences, Analytics, or Marketing
    • Description: A simple explanation
  1. Review the list. If you spot a cookie in the wrong category, click the category dropdown next to it and change it.

Tip: If new tracking is added to your site later (for example, you install a chat widget), re-run the scan or set up a scheduled scan under Settings → Scans. Weekly is a good default.
